Yesterday was a productive day, as I had hoped. I’m hoping today will be better. Windows updated again, and my PC is hatin’ it. It took about an hour to get it working again afterward. I suppose if I was smart I’d turn off the auto updates, but I’m a writer and it’s all about danger. 😛

I finished Short Story #2 yesterday and it’s added to the pile of titles needing edited, which is growing alarmingly.

And finally, my word count for the year actually passed what I wrote in all of 2015. I didn’t write much last year, other than Spilling Blood Season II and Soul Sister. I hope to pass 100k this week. 😀

I got in an hour of writing before the day began yesterday, working on Hungry Gods and a short story. Then it was church followed by a birthday party. I’m hoping to do some serious writing output today. 🙂 I will leave a little time to edit today too.

Welcome back to Writer’s Life, where I share my exciting adventures from the day before… that I did.. that’s usually about being a writer…. or… EXCITEMENT FROM THE CHAIR!!!

So yesterday, I slept in until 6. I got up, wrote yesterdays, Writer’s Life, delivered mail all day, came home and crashed. I. Did Not. Write.  I didn’t even show up. On my spreadsheet, I have a big ole’ 0 on my word count. 😛

I’m okay with that. (deep breaths) I’ve got to realize there will be days that just don’t work out. (more deep breaths). Am I ashamed? I’m going to lie and say NO! I’m going to hold my chin up, and write some today. As punishment, I’m going to force myself to write 10k words for the next 5 days, Monday through Friday. I’d start punishing myself today, but I’ve got shit to do. But I can’t write about that until tomorrow, because I’m talking about yesterday.

Yesterday was just one of those days where I wrote just to say I showed up. I actually got up very early (2:30 am), and spent most of the morning marketing. I finally sat down to write and I got a call from the Post Office. I work part time for the postal service, which is basically every Saturday. Then other post offices around the valley call me if they are short. That’s what I did yesterday. It’s not a bad thing, but like I said, my valuable writing time went to marketing. And I’m writing this on a Saturday, so my goal is to find another half hour or so to write this afternoon, and then make up the word count starting on Sunday.

Last night my kids had a Halo party. When I came home, there were 16+ kids around 4 tv’s and xbox’s. It’s now 6:30 am, and there’s still a few kids. Therefore I didn’t get up early enough to do any writing, except to check in here with my numbers. 🙂
