Review of BROKEN THINGS on BOOK HOARDER

BROKEN THINGS has received a very good 4 star review from Jennifer McClelland on the Book Blog site BOOK HOARDER. Here’s an excerpt:

“…once it has its hooks in you, you can’t put the book down. It’s heartwarming, emotional and will leave you with all kinds of  ”what if” questions at the end.”

Hastings Book Signing This Saturday with Local Authors Bernsen and Wilson

This Saturday you can meet three authors from the Magic Valley at Hastings, in Twin Falls, Idaho.

I will be there, with my book BROKEN THINGS, along with Sandra Moore Bernsen and Cathy (Catmarie) Wilson.

This is the link to the Event on Facebook.

Sandra is the author of Free My Heart of Grief to Love.

“Free my Heart of Grief to Love” is an exceptional book about losing oneself in the trials of life and ultimately finding the path through survival to living again. Join Sandra as she shares her life’s journey from her earliest childhood experiences to the events that took her to complete and unimaginable heartbreak and sorrow. Through the pain, emptiness and tears, she begins to question everthing she’d known before. Sheer determination to leave the pain behind and become whole again keeps her going. Learning meditation, finding spiritual peace, the ability to love again and happiness in daily life has been her reward.

Sandra’s story is inspirational and empowering. She acknowledges that each person is on his or her own journey through life. It is Sandra’s hope that each reader will find in her book the healing, peace, joy and inspiration to overcome challenges.

Cathy is the author of Strange: Unexplained Tales from Idaho and Beyond.

A series of stories, mainly ghost stories, that touch upon genuine but unexplained phenomena and strange experiences. It includes the author’s own experiences as well as tales from friends and relatives. Odd categories about talking dolls and sympathetic plant life will complete chapters including dreams, reincarnation, and UFOs.

Monday Update – On the Horizon

Before I get to the meat of this post, I got to point this out… If you visit this blog from time to time, you can see it’s got a bit of a new look. That feed you see on the left hand side is a visual peek at my Twitter, Facebook, and G+ feeds. That’s through RebelMouse.

NOW! My second novel is almost complete. I promised a hint at the beginning of this month, and then never delivered. Here’s the tease: It’s a fantasy apocalypse. The stereotypical fantasy world is getting a zombie apocalypse. It’s planned to be a series called Hungry Gods. That name might not stick, but I’m liking it so far. I know that doesn’t quite follow the same feel as BROKEN THINGS, but it’s something I wanted to write for fun. 🙂  It will also introduce my writing to a new audience.

Secondly, May and June have a plethora of book signings coming up. I haven’t updated the book signing page as of writing this post, but there will be three (!!!) signings in Boise this weekend. And then next week, I’ll be returning to Twin Falls to sign books with two other authors at Hastings. I’ll be posting the hours early this week for upcoming book sales and signings.

Just Another Monday Update :P

A lot has been going on lately with my novel Broken Things. I did a promotional push last week, and it reached Rank #112 in Free Kindle Books, and #3 in Science Fiction and #5 Suspense. Rank was very similar in Amazon UK and Canada. I’m fairly happy with getting the book into so many people’s hands. It was also featured on Freebooksy. They even gave me a badge for being featured.

I'm a featured author at Freebooksy

Thank you Freebooksy. 🙂

If you want to get your hands on a free signed copy of Broken Things, this is the last week to enter my Goodreads giveaway. You could be that person!

You will also see a new novel from me in April. I’m not giving much away yet, but it will more than likely be a novel featuring zombies. As I get into April, I will share more of the goodness with you.

As a reminder, please visit me on Facebook and give my page a “Like”. This is the best way to interact with me, and join me on Twitter for frequent daily updates featuring my musings and sharing of relevant writing blogs that impact the self-publishing industry and writers in general.

Broken Things: Print Edition

Available slightly sooner than planned, Broken Things, Print Edition.

Broken Things

Yes, you can hold the book in your hands now!

The world has changed. People live forever, but children are a thing of the past. To meet the demands of want-to-be parents, children have been replaced with androids… very life-like androids.

Josh, a twelve-year old boy, is hit by a truck, leaving him badly damaged. Instead of paying the outrageous cost to fix him, they dump him in the wilderness.

Broken Things follows Josh and his journey to a home that doesn’t want him anymore, through a setting that darkly mirrors our own. Along the way, he must face the fears of abandoned children, from the wilderness to the city streets, and the predators that dwell in both. His only salvation may rest in finding a single person that cares.
