Yes, the third book in the Apocalypse Witch series, Shadow Falls, is now available! Through this week, you can acquire and read it digitally for $.99 through Amazon.
What do you do when each day might be your last? You find those responsible and make them pay.
Matilda’s revenge is almost at hand, if she can just survive long enough to see it through. Her path leads to Shadow Falls, a dark city in the shadow of the Citadel, a second city on a floating island high above the other. All that stands in her way is the ever-present threat of spirit possession, a mad scientist, and a Mask – all of which have their own plans for her.
If she somehow miraculously succeeds, the cities might not –
-because an apocalypse witch always heralds doom.
Again, right now it’s only $.99. If you haven’t read book 1, it is also currently free (for just a few more days), and book 2 is $.99 (again, only for a week).

I’ve been quiet for about a month, but I’ve been busy. Here’s what’s going on.
Every spare moment of my writing time has gone to Apocalypse Witch for the last month, going through the entire series and making little improvements, and adding a touch of foreshadowing here and there. Books 1 and 2 will have an update this weekend (approximate, based on when I get the book back from my editing/proofreading team). Around the same time, Apocalypse Witch 3 will go live. The conclusion to the 3 book story arc will be complete!
First of all… here’s the cover of Apocalypse Witch Book 3!
(I also have the cover for the bundle, but I’m saving it until closer to release)
On the same note, about a week after book 3 is released, I’ll release the Complete Trilogy in a bundle. I’m going to push to have the paperback out around the same time.
Spilling Blood 12 is also complete and will now be my focus. The editing won’t take too long on this one. I don’t know if I want to stagger my releases, or release Spilling Blood as early as next week also. I will be writing Spilling Blood 13 next week.
As for Hungry Gods? Yikes! This is a massive editing process and I’m not sure when I will focus on it, though I need to soon. I plan on revisiting the entire series again, making sure all three novels flow together. That’s about 160,000 words, so it isn’t a weekend project – more like a month. O.o
I wish I could say all of my time is going to writing, but a lot of the Post Offices have lost their subs around Southern Idaho, so I’ve been working everywhere, severely limiting my time. I’m just a substitute also, and actually have more free days than most postal workers, but I’ve been busier for the last three weeks or so than normal.
Tomorrow I will be at a library conference as a vendor, peddling my wares. 🙂
So anyway, that’s that. With Apocalypse Witch releasing soon, I’ll have more updates. Plus I need to look at the last three months and how it panned out.

This is kind of big news. I’ve got lots of activity coming up in 2016, and you can be a part of it. I have just opened up a Patreon account where you can contribute to the creation of my works. For a monthly subscription you can get some incredible rewards. I’m not going to go into it here, at least not yet. Instead check out the page:
Yes, I know, we’re well into 2015. Through the winter (and the first part of the year, I didn’t have that much time to devote to my writing. Sooo… here we are, mid-April, and I’m just getting around to what is going on for the rest of the year.
Last year I had set a goal of writing 1 million words. I managed about a quarter of that. Though I’d like to think I could hit it this year, I don’t think a million words is what I want to focus on this time around.
Instead, I’m going for 52 ebook releases in 52 weeks. Some of you might’ve seen a similar goal inspired by the writer Dean Wesley Smith in one of his blog posts from a few years back, and yes, I admit that it’s my influence.
But, I hear you say, it’s April! 15 weeks have already gone by, and you’ve only released 4 ebooks this year! Well, I just so happen to have 15 books on Amazon right now! That’s still 52 books by the time this year ends. But still, that’s not exactly the goal. 52 books in 52 weeks. I’ll take this goal into April 2016 to see it through.
So… back to what I’m shooting for. At least one ebook a week. This will include short stories, novelettes, novellas, serials, bundles, and full length novels. I’m going to try for at least one release per month to be a novel of 40k words or more, but that’s a secondary goal.
This week you’ll see the release of the conclusion to Spilling Blood Season II, and the complete Season in a single bundle (for those of you who have been waiting). In the following weeks, Apocalypse Witch 3 and the bundle of the trilogy, and Soul Sister (which is coming along quickly now), and finally on to Hungry Gods 3. I have several other secret projects I’m not ready to announce yet, but the above are what I’m already committed to.
Finally, if I can stay on track, I’ll go back to fairly regular Monday updates to keep myself honest.
When I was growing up in the eighties, vampires were scary.
Can you relate? At one time, vampires were monsters, undead that existed only to drink your blood. They were soulless killers existing in the dark, maybe standing outside the window watching as you prepared for bed, ignorant to their presence. Maybe the monsters needed invited in, maybe they didn’t.
To become a vampire meant to give up your soul, to hunger night after night, to kill your loved ones and not care. Maybe you’d be something mindless, driven by bloodlust, or maybe a tiny part of you would still exist, knowing what you had become yet victim of a personality shift. I picture Lucy from Dracula, the monstrous bride, or Michael from Lost Boys, fighting his urge for blood. Good stuff.
And for me, that made vampires scary.
And then something happened.
It has always been there, our society’s efforts to humanize our monsters. As a kid, I didn’t see it at first. Yet finding something frightening also meant it fascinated me.
It’s hard not to be jaded by vampires. It’s hard to fear something that eventually becomes so romanticized that the metaphors are portrayed literally. For those of us still searching for vampire horror, sometimes you have to block out the mainstream. It’s still there, in the dark, waiting. Vampires can still be monsters.
This post is sponsored by my vampire serial, Spilling Blood. It is a blending of what I like about vampires and what I found scary. They can get in your head. They are supernaturally fast. They have no remorse.
Season I of Spilling Blood is available now. Season II begins Monday, August 25th.

APOCALYPSE WITCH by G.S. Wright
A Science Fiction Steampunk Adventure
Matilda Katrine Myra is not from nobility. Her parents have spent their savings to send her to New Terros to continue her education and in hopes of a better future. It’s not the life she wants.
Everything changes when her airship is attacked by pirates. With a hasty lie told to protect another girl, Matilda finds herself abducted and thrust into a world beyond the safety of her civilized world.
Time is running out, and Matilda must find a way to escape before the pirates learn the truth of her ruse. With a mad scientist, spirits, and her own mind working against her, escaping may be the least of her worries.
Apocalypse Witch is a serialized steampunk sci-fi.
The wait is finally over. Death’s Reach, the sequel to last year’s Death Storm in the Hungry Gods series, is available on exclusively at Amazon in ebook format. Paperback will follow shortly.
DEATH’S REACH
The zombie apocalypse continues as the survivors search for a place of refuge. Things have gone from bad to worse, with even the gods succumbing to the curse.
Taegar never saw himself as a hero, and certainly not a leader. His allies are a mixed bunch, composed of a little girl and her zombie brother, a blind and crippled elf, a rogue, and a young woman that can’t return his affections. Though their differences threaten to tear the group apart, only by staying together can they survive.
Their goal is to reach Levia, the city of wizards, hoping that such a place would have withstood the undead horde. Between them and their destination is a dying world full of new horrors and nightmares as the curse expands beyond humans. And what awaits them in Levia? Has it truly survived the madness of the zombie apocalypse?
Meanwhile, the goddess, Death, embarks on her own journey to reach the underworld and fulfill her destiny. Her companion, a man thought lost to primordial spirits, carries within him a curse all his own.
Death’s Reach is book 2 in the Hungry Gods series, and the sequel to Death Storm, a Dark Fantasy Zombie Apocalypse that brings the nightmare of Armageddon to a high fantasy world.
One year ago from yesterday, I released my first book, Broken Things. Since then, I’ve published two others, with my fourth book coming out within a few days.
Broken Things was the novel I wanted to write, a story that I felt was inspired. It is the novel I wanted to launch my career with. I’m still proud of it, even though my writing has continued to grow since then. It’s still my favorite of all my stories. It’s taken me across Southern Idaho to book signings in a variety of venues from an aquarium and to coffee bars and bookstores. It also continues to sell the best of my three titles, so far.
Even though I am frequently asked if this book will ever have a sequel, I really don’t want to lessen the book by giving it a series. There’s some books (and movies) that lose everything they stand for because of further development, and this I will always believe is one of them. It has reached rank #1,138 in paid bestsellers on Amazon, and broken into the top #100 from a promo free run.
In this second year, I have another sci-fi novel coming out, probably a month or two away. It will be for those of you who enjoyed my first Sci-fi, with a story-line that will hopefully make you think and feel. More on that at a later date.
I will also be writing my other two genre fiction series, being Hungry Gods and Spilling Blood. I’ve promised my wife her advanced copy of Death’s Reach will be in her hands over the next couple of days, which means that you will be able to read it within a week.
In Death’s Reach, the zombie apocalypse takes a number of horrifying new turns as zombie gods begin to extend their influence over the world. There are few sanctuaries left, and the survivors from book 1 find their resolve tested as the world descends into chaos.
If you liked Death Storm, you’ll love Death’s Reach.
The release of Death’s Reach is right around the corner. In the coming days, I’ll be throwing out some teasers about the book leading up to its launch, but let’s start with this…
…the cover!
This beautiful cover was designed by Jen Pack at Black Cat Studios Design & Photography, and features the Goddess of Death. This is the second book cover she’s done for me (the first was Spilling Blood).
If you haven’t read the first book, there’s still time before Death’s Reach releases. Grab book 1 in the Hungry God’s series, Death Storm, now.
